Our choir leader is Eleanor Mooney.
Eleanor has loved singing her whole life, at school, local am-dram groups and adding harmony with the best of them at folk gigs/festivals from a very young age.
Leading Caedmon Choir is one of Eleanor’s favourite things and she says that she continues to learn so much from us even after 17+ years! She arranges most of the songs we sing, taking requests from the choir, bringing her own ideas and loves to try something new and a bit unexpected.

She is a musician, singer, songwriter, performer and community music director. She has led community choirs for 20 years and collaborated nationally and internationally with organisations including Royal Northern Sinfonia, National Theatre, Blue Cabin CIC, The Glasshouse, Dance City, Shoetree Arts, Musinc Middlesborough, Guri Santa Marcelina Sao Paula and Nordoff Robbins.
She is Music Director for several local choirs and music groups, which fall under the “SING with Eleanor Mooney” banner.
Eleanor sings and plays ukulele, currently working on her debut solo album and as part of her band FIKA, performing with her bandmate Joe Johnston, and gigging whenever they can.
When Eleanor isn’t singing or working, she loves hanging out with her family, being outdoors, wild swimming, reading, sewing and should the opportunity arise, napping!
